Yoga Workshops
(All can be offered as a private event)
Sound. Stillness. Space.
Join Ashley and Matthew Pendrick for a restorative yoga class with live musical accompaniment. As Ashley skillfully guides you through therapeutic restorative poses, Matthew will provide a live instrumental soundtrack to help you rest and relax. With a soundtrack designed to relax the mind, Matthew will employ concepts from holistic sound therapy and ambient music, while reacting in real time to the practice as it develops. Together they hope you will enjoy this unique experience with them and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is a slow practice where you put your body into a pose supported with props and you rest there for several minutes. It promotes deep relaxation which allows the body and mind to receive the benefits of the particular shape. I like to call it artful resting. And when you add Matthew’s soothing ambient music to the practice it’s dreamy.

Meditate, Move, Breathe - A Wheelchair Workshop
This chair yoga class is designed for individuals who are quadriplegic or paraplegic and looking to explore meditation, asana and pranayama. You’ll learn meditation techniques for clearing the mind and body of stress. The asana (physical practice) will focus on relieving tension in the upper back, neck, shoulders and arms. We will complete the class with pranayama (breath work) for soothing your nervous system.
Ashley has been teaching chair and adaptive yoga for several years and takes special care to make her students feel safe and confident in their practice. Her lighthearted approach is also a valuable part of her teaching.
Date: Stay tuned for upcoming summer 2022 dates or contact Ashley to reserve as a private or semi private session.
The Hips Don’t Lie - A Hips & Low Back Workshop
This workshop with Ashley focuses on relief and prevention from hip and low back pain which many of us regularly (and unnecessarily) experience. Tightness in the hip flexors and hamstrings along with compression of the hip joints and low back are the major factors contributing to hip and low back discomfort. You’ll learn simple poses and stretches which safely open the hip flexors and hamstrings and decompress the hip joints. You’ll be shown techniques which traction and make space in the low back, including hanging from the yoga wall. The intention of this workshop is for each participant to take home techniques and poses to incorporate into their daily routine. This workshop is for everyone who wants to regain and/or maintain healthy freedom in their hips and low back.
Date: Stay Tuned for summer 2022 dates or contact ashley@youryogaroadie.com for private or semi private booking.
